Employ-ability
Employ-ability is an important tool for graduates because it shows evidence of quality professional experiences, demonstrates an effective job search, resume and interviewing skills and assumes that we are responsible for our own career management.
What it is
Attached below is my 2011 annual review from my current FedEx Office position. I am particularly proud of this document because it not only expresses my managers opinion of my abilities in a range of settings, but is a direct measuring of my progress and experience with a company who has extremely high standards in regards to values, service and goals.
The review states that my manager feels I am meeting the high standards FedEx upholds in every area, however, that I excel at driving results and fostering team work.
In summary, the document shows that I am an efficient worker with a drive to achieve company goals. I take responsibility for my position but also take on new tasks and challenges to increase my value to the company. My manager mentions that I "proactively takes action to seek out activities." This means that I am self-managed and motivated. When it comes to fostering teamwork, I am friendly, respectful and open with my supervisors and team mates and my manager calls me "a pleasure to work with."
